Lumut Port works round-the-clock throughout the year on a three shift rotation.

INTRODUCTION

Lumut Port is owned and operated by Lumut Maritime Terminal Sdn Bhd (LMT), a joint venture between the Perak State Economic Development Corporation and Halim Rasip Holdings Sdn Bhd. The port, which commenced operations in July 1995, has 100 acres for port operations and 445 acres for industrial development (under the Lumut Port Industrial Park)...

LOCATION

Lumut Port is strategically located on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia in the state of Perak. Its location allows economical and rapid access to the Asean region, the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand growth triangle (IMT-GT) as well the major industrial centers of north and central peninsular Malaysia.

The port is located at Kampung Acheh is sheltered waters along the banks of the Dindings River at Latitude 4°15.3’ N, Longitude 100°39.6’ E, about 78km from Ipoh and 240km from Kuala Lumpur. It is approximately midway between the ports of Penang and Klang.

Lumut Port offers excellent opportunities for manufacturing and distribution of materials, componenet, product sources to and from within the ASEAN region and the Indian sub-continent. It is well suited for the handling of agricultural bulk commodities such as palm oil, palm kernel weeds and expellers, grains and feedstock and fertilizers.

Lumut Port has excellent lingkages by sea, road and air for distribution and sourcing. The port has a deepwater sheltered harbour and scheduled container feeder services to Port Klang. There is also a direct shipping service to Sabah to Sarawak...
