With the Straits of Malacca as its frontage, Malacca Port is easily accessible to ships from all directions. On-shore the port is also situated in close proximity to the many industrial estates established within Malacca and the neighbouring states.

SPPG(M) Sdn Bhd, as the private operator of the port, compensates for the lack of size of its facilities with other qualities such as personalized services, an approachable management, rapid response to problems and, most importantly,very competitve cargo handling charges to the port users.

The berthing facility consists of a T-shaped multi-purpose berth measuring 170m in length which is connected to the shore by a 400m long approach bridge. The whaft apron is 15m wide and can accommodate two ships at any one time.
